Duluth, MN - 2008

Jon and I went on our 2nd Annual "Up North Color Seeing Tour." We were a little early for the colors, but that doesn't mean that we didn't see some beautiful sites. We stayed at an indoor water park which was a ton of fun despite the three million children yelling and screaming. We went out with Jon's co-worker Heather on Friday night and had the biggest blue margaritas known to man. We went on a color tour train ride on Saturday and while it was nice, it wasn't exactly what we were expecting. All of the windows had a green tint on them which made it hard to get a real good look at the colors. The train went two hours North, we had a layover in Two Harbors, and then two hours back to Duluth. On Sunday, after a big brunch, we went to the grounds of the Glensheen Mansion and shot some beautiful pictures. Afterall, there is no better place to take pictures and be charged $5 admission than at the site of a beautiful mansion where a heinous murder had taken place years earlier. Overall it was a lot of fun, but as usual, went by way too fast.
"All Aboard"
My attempt at an artistic shot...hey bald dude, move your head!
Dude, seriously!!
Me on the train with the green tinted glass
Jon reflecting on the world through green tinted glass.
Jon thinking about how we ended up on a train with 150 couples all over the age of 70.
Jon threatened to jump out the window if I didn't give in to his demands....a bag of Gardetto's from the snack bar.
The train stopped right in the middle of a bridge and this was right in front of Jon and I's window. Josh, if you are out there....it is okay to be different!
And Randy, if you're out there, it isn't nice to brag!!
The steam train itself was actually really cool and it isn't often you get to see something this old working so good. This was the steam engine that pulled our train.
Our stop in Two Harbors. Me and the moose.
Jon doing his best chuga-chuga-chuga-chuga-choooo-choooo impression.
Me inside the train and Jon outside the train
And again...
Jon's attempt at an artistic picture. Sooooo pretty!
Jon re-living his days as model
I can't tell if it is the sweatshirt or my face that is making me look fat. Or maybe it is the 6 lbs. of chocalate I devoured before coming to this place.
Pretty background, not so pretty foreground. Seriously, I could not take a good picture to save my soul that day.
Jon skipping stones.
It was so pretty
There were all kinds of cool little places to take a picture....I loved this glass window.
Jon and I near the fountain.
Oh, this was the most beautiful tree EVER! It was so vibrant orange!

K - I'm glad you had fun! Your pictures are great - hey did you get that bald guy's #...he was hot! Sooo, the VAIL sweatshirt...I think I've seen that thing in every damn outing you two have had. I'm sending you two a Mt. Holly sweatshirt to take its place.
