Kelly's 30th Birthday

So, after all the planning and hoopla, the party is finally over! It was a rousing success, even though the ENTIRE family showed up to the wrong restaurant. Due to the mix up and being against the clock, the family resembled something close to a Benny Hill sketch. We immediately went into fast forward mode and looked like a group of mental patients who had escaped the Psychiatric Ward.
Kelly seemed truly surprised, even though our entrance into the party was not quiet nor graceful. Nobody in my family would have made a good thief. She shed a few tears, made her rounds to all the guests, and received some fabulous gifts. The food, drink, and company were terrific!
Jon made the trip with me and he received rave reviews from the family so I guess that makes it official. He was great sport during all the travel and party trials and tribulations.

EMU Homecoming 2007

So I made the long trip home to my undergraduate days at EMU for my 4th Annual Homecoming Blowout with my old college friends from CloseUp Theatre Troupe. We a little get together on Friday night at Sticks and Aubree's. It was just Anil, Megan, Lauren, Liz, Eric, and I. We had a great time and put on a nice display of drinking (that is my excuse for the pictures).
Saturday we had an awesome turnout. It was cold, rainy, and windier than hell, but I had the time of my life. It was also Mary Jo's birthday so we had two reasons to celebrate. EMU ended up winning the game, but I was too busy sleeping off my morning's alcohol. I am not proud of that, but how else was I going to gear up for the evening's events.
We rented out Frenchie's and just had the best time ever. We saw people who we NEVER even expected to see and hadn't seen in years and years. It was just so good to see everyone and reconnect, even if only for a weekend.
I am already putting aside money for next year's trip! I just hope Jon can go with me so he can meet all of my wonderful friends!!

Pumpkin Carving

Jon and I carved pumpkins this weekend and had a wonderful time! While I would like to take credit for our carvings, we traced them from a book. Jon carved an alien with an attitude problem (I think the alien is flipping us off, but the jury is still out). I tried to carve a cat and after some minor surgery to re-attach its tail that had been accidently amputated, it actually came out resembling Garbo or Sophie. Our hardwork could not go unnoticed so we naturally had to take some pictures to commemerate the event. I hope you enjoy!
Jon's pumpkin on the left, mine on the right!
This is my kitty cat, thankfully you can't see the pins sticking into his tail to keep it upright! Though he followed the outline, I swear the left hand is making the "Rock-N-Roll" symbol and the other hand is flipping us off....you be the judge! Jon with the Playgirl pose!

North Shore

Jon and I went to the North Shore last weekend and had a great time. Yes...it rained almost the ENTIRE weekend, but we didn't let that hamper our good time. We did manage to have about 4-5 hours of no rain where we fit in some golf amongst the beautiful changing trees and a short (super short cause it started to rain) hike. Besides that, we took it easy, did a bit of sight seeing, and tried to take in a bit of the local cuisine. The trees were beautiful despite the rain, but I have to be honest, after a lot of talk about MN's Fall Season, I think MI could give MN a very, very good run for its money.

Company Work Outing

We decided to do to tour of all of our houses (minus Michelle's). It was so fun and interesting to see where each of us lives and how different our lives are outside of the office. It was a fun, fun night!!

Barb's husband is a very talented artist and did a life size rendition of of a man named "Earl." I had heard about this legendary picture and so the gals felt a need to pose with him.
